**I have been trying to write this post for like a week almost…haha. Anyway, what it comes down to is that my computer goes REALLY slow if I try and put it all in one post. So, since I already have it all written, I am dividing up our “Family Visit” Post into 3 different posts. BUT…I am posting them all one after the other. So, when you finish this one, if you still have the desire to keep reading and seeing how our time went with our families, go on to see the 2nd and 3rd post after this one. Ok…hope that wasn’t too confusing.**
We have had a blast with our families here. I really feel like having them here was what we needed. We were worn out and ready for a break from Spanish for a bit (well, everyday for 4 hours of spanish…yes, we still have to speak spanish at least once every day if not more). Anyway, Justin’s mom, step dad, brother, and sister flew in the same day that our teammates, the Yoakums, flew back home. It was a bittersweet day. Needless to say, we had so much fun with them, and here are some pictures to prove it!
she HAD to be just like auntie allie…but that required a bib to be included.
We took a day trip to the beach, and this is what we saw along the way!
Ok…explanation required. The last time we went to the beach, Cailyn HATED it. She didn’t like the sand between her toes, she didn’t like her hands being dirty, she didn’t even like WATCHING us get into the water. So, when Justin’s family said they wanted to go to the beach, I was a bit curious how it would go down. I decided to take her rain boots to see if I could get her to go past her beach towel this time. It worked, but she was still not very happy to have sand on her hands…as you can see in this picture. Uh, sorry, Cailyn. That’s just what happens at the beach. The sand gets on you. Can we say dramatic?
Wiped out! YeSSS!
Teri’s birthday was the same day we went to the beach, so she and Allie did a bit of shopping…these are their cute little beach dresses they found…they looked great!
The next day, we drove to a zip line, and all of us minus Andy and Cailyn did the zip line…it was fun.
this is me…
this is justin…
and this was our view!
That same day, after the zip line, we drove a bit further to a wonderful lunch buffet and rainforest/waterfall tour. It was great.
She was, once again, wiped out at the end of our day!
Thanks Teri and Andy for treating us to some great sights while you were here. Even though you were the ones visiting, we were the ones that received such a great gift of traveling! Love you guys!
And, there you have it. The week with Justin’s family. We enjoyed ourselves, and yet, it wasn’t all over after that. My parents and sister came on the 24th, and we decided as a family to open our gifts that night. Check the next post to see pictures of that.
