Well, this is what a meal might look like if you’ve packed up all of your dishes and you have no food in the fridge:
Yes, those are “Peanut Butter Pows”. I got them at the Whole Foods Store. And, yes, that is a plastic one-time-use food container I was eating out of. This is about what life is like these days. I enjoyed every bite.
I thought I would use this post to just share some random things we have been up to. So, here it goes:
This is what our house looked like for about 2 1/2 days while we packed and then picked up after packing:
I am pretty sure Cailyn, once again (we’ve done this in Abilene as well), loved every moment of the mess. She found lots of things to play with, including some flags. She has the waving down!
She also enjoyed trying on old clothes as I went through all of her clothes bins to decide what to send to Peru and what would fit in Costa Rica:
I realized in the past couple of weeks that Cailyn has gone from enjoying “toys” to having very specific feelings toward “favorite toys”. I showed her with the baby doll that Drew and Tara Branch gave her as a flower girl thank-you gift, and it is clear that this is one of her favorites. We had a little boy sitting with us at church the other morning who is probably around 6-7 years old, and he was reading all of the books I had brought for Cailyn to have during service. After a while, he saw that we also had a baby doll. Cailyn wasn’t playing with it, so I gave it to the little boy. The second she saw he had her doll, she let out a “oh, I don’t think so” scream and grabbed it. Needless to say, I had to intervene. Of course, she didn’t care about any of the other toys we had…just the doll. She also had a difficult time sharing this doll with Sofia Fletcher this past weekend when our team was visiting. Basically, it’s an issue. We’re working on it. So, I figured she needed a good, cute picture for future reference as to what her favorite toy was when she was 14 months old:
Cailyn has some crazy hair in the mornings…this is probably one of the best. How does this happen?
Well, the newest thing in Cailyn’s life is that she is barely beginning to walk! Yes, for all of those mothers still waiting for their 14 month old to walk…YOU’RE IN GOOD COMPANY! We were told that Stride Rite shoes were a good shoe for walking, so we took a trip to the mall to find us a pair. Little did we know that the day we would buy them would be the day she started walking. We had a good laugh, and we’ve decided we need to be the next family on a Stride Rite commercial. Here she is sporting those cute little tennis shoes. We’ll post some video later for all the family who cares. 🙂
Well, that’s it for now. We have a long week ahead. I leave tomorrow for College Station for a wedding, and Justin is driving to Abilene with a few things to send to Peru on Sunday. If you think of us, say a little prayer for our safety!
